OUR CULTURE

Hundreds of individuals from different continents come together in one location. Our micro melting pot in the heart of Berlin is a place, where interesting people work on interesting projects. Connecting their cultures and ideas and skills to create cutting-edge virtual shopping platforms. In an atmosphere that is built on appreciation – right from the start. As well as a clear understanding of what kind of behavior makes every single employee succeed at Visual Meta:

OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES

SEE THE BIG PICTURE

Whatever you do at Visual Meta, you have to keep our three customers in mind: Bots, Shops & Users. We need to balance the different needs of those customers in order to be successful. Even when that means, that we miss out on certain opportunities for one of them.

FOCUS ON IMPACT

To have an impact, you have to focus on the things that really make a difference. Therefore, you need to ask yourself every day if the tasks you are working on are the ones that really help us to achieve our goals.

PROVE YOUR POINT

If you want to improve something, gather facts and figures to back up your arguments. Seek supporters and pitch your case.

GET THINGS DONE

In order to get things done, you need to follow through with what you started. Sometimes getting small things done is better than big things not done.

WORK HARD, ENJOY LIFE

While in the office, work hard on what is on your agenda and make the most of your time. Once that is accomplished, go home and enjoy life.

PLAY FOR THE TEAM

In order to be successful as a team, you need to put the interest of the team before your own and treat others like you want to be treated.

DON´T BE AFRAID TO FAIL

If you want to get ahead, you have to try out new things and take calculated risks. Failure is valuable as long as it helps you to get better.

VISUAL META INSIDE

Get a transparent insight into our great culture

If we sprint, it’s design.

September 13, 2019
Last week John Vetan and Marc Garner from the Design Sprint Academy landed in our playground on their journey around the world to discuss a deep insight into best practices, do’s and don’ts at Design Sprints with us. At Visual Meta, we already use design sprints and it was a thriving exchange of experience and a great opportunity for our POs, designers and devs to reflect on what Design Sprint professionals would do differently. By now, John and Marc are back in the air and on their way to new Design Sprint adventures around the globe. Thank you both! #ImProveYourPoint!

Let’s challenge the status quo…

August 16, 2019
From time to time its good to take a step back and challenge the status quo. Also as company. We at Visual Meta did this with all our team, regional and department leaders together to evaluate the question: Do we all share the same Vision and follow the same path? Do we need to change? Innovation and especially the will to change is crucial as a company (and also as a person). This means development requires transformation and only then it leads to progress. And it definitely feels like Visual Meta is on a pretty bright way already. We embrace change, look forward to developing the company in the same direction and also to enVISION a common goal. So team up, Visual Metans, and let’s go! #Vision&Mission

Flea Market at Visual Meta!

July 11, 2019
We at Visual Meta constantly try to reduce our environmental impact. So we invited all colleagues to our 2nd Visual Meta Flea Market in our Playground to spark joy and to donate, swap and rebuy like there was no tomorrow. Most of us have limited space in our wardrobe, all of us have only one body and we have only one planet. Fashion is the second most polluting industry in the world. 300-thousand tonnes of clothing goes into landfill each year. Around 1⁄2 million tons of microfiber (or the equivalent of 3 million barrels of oil) is dumped into the ocean every year. We hope to raise awareness by hosting these kinds of events and sometimes, finding pieces with a story can make the difference. May the lucky shirt of your best colleague spark joy in you, Visual Metans! #Focus on Impact #See the big picture
