Visual Meta was founded in a backroom in the Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg in January 2009. Thanks to a lot of devotion and spirit, the virtual shopping mall ‘LadenZeile’ went live just weeks later, in April 2009: A meta-search engine for fashion and other products for which appearance is key. The company was acquired by international media powerhouse Axel Springer in 2011.
Over the years Visual Meta has rolled out its successful business model for virtual shopping solutions into several countries and lately launched adjacent products in the same geographies. While the company keeps prospering, it proudly maintains its spirit from the founding days as a start-up business.
